Welcome to Studio Pfütze – the little corner of the internet where music happens, ideas get out of hand and the occasional plugin is blamed for everything.
Have a look around and you’ll find:
The Frankieband – original songs, ranging from rock and pop to reggae, ballads and whatever else happens to come along.
News & Stories – behind-the-scenes tales, studio adventures and the sometimes painful journey from a rough idea to a finished track.
Audio Production – recording, mixing, mastering, Logic Pro tips and a few experiments that may or may not have worked.
iPad Music Production – proving that you don’t necessarily need a million-dollar studio to make some noise.
It’s all about making music, trying things out, getting things wrong, getting them right and occasionally wondering why on earth that sounded better yesterday.
No big studio attitude. No golden records on the wall. Just a passion for music, a slightly obsessive approach to sound and a healthy sense of humour.
So, grab a coffee, turn up the volume and have a look around.
„Neue Produktion – neues Album“ weiterlesen

My name is Frank Pfützenreuter. My friends — in their endless creativity — decided that was far too long, so now I’m simply “Pfütze” . Charming, I know.
I began my illustrious recording career in the 80s with a Tascam 4-track recorder. The method was simple: program a Roland TR-505 (or at least some drum machine I vaguely remember as one) and record everything step by painstaking step.
Armed with those masterpieces, I hit the streets of Southern Europe as a busker. Somewhere along the way, I “accidentally” stayed in Barcelona for six months, living the sort of carefree life that most motivational speakers would describe as “unsustainable” — which was precisely why I liked it. Sadly, my studies and my worry-prone parents failed to provide the necessary guilt-free framework for me to keep doing it forever.
So back I went to good ol’ Germany to become sensible. Think about the future. Get serious. You know, all the things that sound boring because they are.
Naturally, I then dropped out of university and worked at a music publishing company. It wasn’t exactly glamorous, but I did get a peek behind the music industry’s velvet curtain… only to discover it was more polyester than silk.
As a guitarist, I played in various bands and eventually stepped into my first proper recording studio. That was it — the trigger moment. Creativity and great sound, all in one place! The only hitch: studio time costs money. A lot of it. Sometimes the label paid, sometimes I did… but the ticking clock never missed a beat. So I thought, “There has to be a way to do this at home without selling a kidney.”
While funding my existence as a live engineer, I bought my first DAW: Cubase with Reason on Windows XP. The learning curve? Let’s just say the curve was a cliff.
These days, I’ve tamed the beast. My home studio runs Logic Pro with decent monitors, and I can record without having to hunt down obscure drivers or reboot every 20 minutes.
I’ve also built a modest little distribution setup — a media lab, video editing, web design. You know, the sort of DIY empire that sounds impressive until you realise it’s basically just me, my computer, and a stubborn refusal to quit.
In short: a bedroom producer. The kind your mother warned you about.
If you fancy having a look at my “Studio Pfütze” projects, scroll through. There’s probably something in there you’ll like… or at least something you can shamelessly steal for your own tracks.
